Centum Investment Limited yesterday launched a jo hunt app dubbed Ajiry, a platform that directly links employees with the employers hence easing job hunt in the country.
Speaking during the launch, Centum Director Chris Kirubi noted that the application will be a one-stop shop as the parties will be able to see a wide variety of job candidates and companies hiring accordingly.
“Once an individual has downloaded this application, workers will cast a wide net in their search for job opportunities and turn further formalize the informal industry,” said Kirubi.
Statics indicate that the number of unemployed youths in the country is on the rise day after day, and hence the need for the country to find ways to curb the gap.
“Employment opportunities for the youth are endless via the new Progressive Web Application. We need to train our children to be practical and how to use their skills and talent. For the first time, the government and other institutions are catching up. It is not all about passing exams; it’s about the skills and talents they have,” he said.
According to Executive Director Centum Investment Limited James Mworia, the youth should mostly seek to gain more experience every day as its key towards achieving one’s dreams in the near future.
“I will urge the young people not to mind the dues they receive while starting on a job but should focus more on sharpening their skills which will, in turn, make them be billionaires,” he said during a panel discussion.
Centum Investment Limited has set a charge of Sh400 to all companies seeking to hire employees from the platform, in a bid to prevent fraud.
