An American company is seeking wealthy Kenyans who seek to work and live in America permanently.
Kenyans who will be able to invest a sum of Ksh50 million will be able to get a green investment card through the Atlantic American Partners. The little-known option is known as EB-5 two years old.
Daniel Ryan who is the Managing Director of Atlantic American Partners said that moving to the US has had prominence in China but with little interest, more among Africans.
“This form of legal immigration has been in place since 1990 which allows anyone across the world which invests $500,000 (Sh50 million) in the US and generate jobs, a permanent Green Card,” said Mr. Ryan at a press briefing in Nairobi yesterday.
The program created under the late US President G.H.W Bush tenure in 1990 in a bid to create more job opportunities, stimulate the country’s economy and capital investment by foreigners. Every year, the US does issue 10,000 such visas mostly being utilized by Chinese investors.
“About 100 Kenyan have shown interest, and we have lined up to 50 meetings in the next three weeks. We will also do two meetings at a couple of private members clubs in the city,” he said.
The firm ensures that they do a background check up on all the applicants to ensure that they have no criminal records or that they are not money laundering.
Many Kenyans have moved to the US using their student visas, or the diversity visa lottery is also known as the green card lottery.
