The programme which will also engage startups from Nigeria and South Africa seeks to build African links with the UK’s tech sector.
The six Kenyan winners include agritech firms Myfugo Innovations and CropCrowd, Afya-Plan, fintech companies Cherehani Africa and FlexPay Technologies as well as water management business Elikham Systems Limited.
The startups will be coached in their first two weeks at pitching experts Enterprise Academy in which they will be subjected to public speaking masterclasses and advice on the way to grow their business from PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ dedicated startup team and the Natwest Fintech Accelerator.
The startups will also be provided with insights on how to launch and leverage technology for ventures, by Bethnal Green Ventures while Carlos Espinal from Seedcamp takes them through the fundraising guidance.

“I’ve no doubt they have the talent to play a transformative role in their country’s growth while also building connections for UK startups in new markets and highlighting Britain as the place to develop new technology.”
The UK has initiatives in the country among them; the Kenya Catalytic Jobs Fund which is running Business Innovation Challenge.
Five innovative initiatives are set to be selected by the fund and receive grant funding and technical assistance worth up to Sh13 million.
