Kenya will host the annual Africa Digital Finance Summit (ADFS) in February 2022. The event will bring together central banks, governments, and experts in the financial, economic, fintech, technology, and blockchain industries.
The three-day event themed “The Future of Finance in Africa; our pathway to financial freedom” seeks to deliberate and forge a pathway towards the future of finance in Africa.
According to the event organizer, Mary Njoki, the summit will discuss African systems of production, financial services, and governance to make Africa a financial solutions hub.
“The ADFS will provide Africa with an opportunity to leapfrog the mistakes of the West by reimagining entire systems of production, financial services, and governance fueled by financial innovations & blockchain technologies, thus positioning her as a continent with solutions in Finance.”
The summit will seek to have African states leverage digital finance and have decentralized finance in day-to-day activities and transactions.
In addition, matters blockchain technologies, cryptocurrencies, Policies governing disruption in finance, and the introduction of central bank digital currencies in Africa won’t be left out
The inaugural summit was last held in Nairobi in February 2021.
