Glovo has announced a partnership with Naivas Supermarkets to provide free deliveries in the wake of the Covid 19 Global Pandemic.
The Partnership will see Glovo make free deliveries for orders above Ksh.1,000 up to Sunday, March 29, 2020, after which a flat rate delivery fee of Ksh.100 will be introduced for deliveries above Ksh.1000 as from April 19.
The move by the two companies came after the government issued a directive limiting gatherings and crowds in stores in efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus.
“To comply with the Ministry of Health directive to retailers to manage their shopper populations to reduce grouping and crowding, we expect that Kenyans will take to online shopping much faster and more,” said Willy Kimani, Chief Commercial Office of Naivas.
According to the chain store, shoppers will only need to place their orders online and have them delivered at their doorstep, reducing in-store visits.
On the other hand, Shoppers visiting the stores will have to follow the six-feet rule of thumb, ensuring each person is at least six feet away from the closest fellow shopper at all times.
