In the spirit of Kilifi County Persons with Disability Act 2022, Kilifi County Government has been working closely with key state and non-state actors towards creating an enabling environment to support inclusive and special needs education for all children living with disabilities in our jurisdiction.
Kesho Kenya, a non-governmental organization founded and domiciled in Kilifi where it focuses on addressing concerns of lack of educational opportunities for children and youth from marginalized families, is one of the key stakeholders in continued collaboration with the administration of H.E Gideon Maitha Mung’aro to ensure the Kilifi County Persons with Disability Act is implemented to the letter.
Earlier today a meeting organized by Kesho Kenya, led by the Chair of its Board Zena Salim and Policy Advocacy Officer- Pamodzi for Inclusive Education in South-East Africa Project Wanjiru Mbugua, to review the first year of implementation of Kesho Kenya’s Pamodzi for Inclusive Education Project, specifically the awareness gap and the disconnect between inclusive education policies and implementation.
