
Canada is set to hold the first flag raising and proclamation ceremony in honor of Kenya Independence Day and the contribution of Kenyan Canadians living in Brampton, a City in Ontario Province, Canada.
This event will take place on Saturday 14th 2019 according to a presser released on December 10, 2019 by KCA.
The Mayor of Brampton, His Worship Patrick Brown, will host the occasion at Brampton City Hall as he is scheduled to celebrate Jamhuri Day together with Kenyans in Canada.
The flag raising ceremony will see Kenyan flag being hoisted for two weeks.
“This is a great achievement and a milestone not just to the Kenyans living in Canada but to Kenya as a country. We are so proud to have a Canadian Government recognize, for the first time, the contributions of Kenyans in this Country. .” said Ephraim Mwaura, the President of Kenyan Canadian Association – KCA.
He also affirmed the significant step towards getting integrated with other communities which form the immigrant Canadian Society.
