Kenya Commercial Bank(KCB) has been named as the best bank in the country and region and also the best for SMEs. The bank won the titles during this year’s Euromoney awards for excellence, which are referred to as the most prestigious in the financial services industry globally.
The bank’s substantial footprint with the largest branch network (258 branches) in the region and presence in six East African countries was a key attribute to the two awards.
Kenya Commercial Bank was awarded as it has played a vital role in the regional economy by simplifying financial accessibility.
The bank’s objective is to support both domestic and international working environments for the SMEs in a bid to see them link and work together with bigger firms and institutions, both locally and internationally.
The bank launched KCB Biashara Club in a bid to bring business solutions and advisory services to the clients, a service that grows the clients along with the bank.
“Currently, we are in partnership with over 12,000 active club members in Kenya, and over 4,000 in South Sudan and Rwanda. Our purpose, manifested through business exposure trips, access to customized loans, and business development pieces of training, exposes customers to emerging and developed economies to upgrade their skills in doing business”, Said KCB Group Chief Operating Officer – Samuel Makome.
The offices added that the awards were an actual demonstration to their positive contribution to the region.
“The core of our business lies in driving innovation while leveraging on technology in how we do business. Moving forward, we remain committed to continue performing our role to ensure that we support the aspirations of all our customers.” He said.
