Nakuru County will be hosting the biggest Horticultural fair in Africa from the 21st – 22nd of September 2018 at the Naivasha Sports Club in Naivasha. The Naivasha Horticultural Fair will attract investors from across Africa, Europe and other continents. The two-day, open door, event will grant stakeholders the opportunity to show case products and services in the horticultural industry. Apart from primarily showcasing flowers, the event will grant other stakeholders an opportunity to exhibit car manufacturing, accessories as well as financial products.
The event will also be opened to the public as it will provide a range of entertainment ideal for family weekend gateways. There will be live concerts, kid’s corner, drinks and food court.
During the event, participants are expected to get a clear assessment of the horticultural industry including the challenges faced in the by agri entrepreneurs and how to combat them. It will also provide traction for small scale farmers to join the commercial industry that has for a long time been dominated by big farmers who monopolize access to markets.
This year’s event will mark the 16th edition of the fair which has consistently grown since its inception fifteen years ago. The first fair was held in 2002 with about 20- 30 stands showcasing the products.
