Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has assured the striking nurses of their dues. He further added that the implementation of the earlier signed Collective Bargaining Agreement would go on as agreed.
From the agreement, the county government was to have the deal implemented as from January this year but delayed due to unforeseen issues.
“I want to appeal to the Nairobi County staff to go back to work because all their issues are being addressed. We are in consultations with all the relevant offices, including the Salaries and Remuneration Commission to see that this CBA is implemented,” said Sonko.
Nairobi county workers will enjoy a 15 to 20 percent salary increment after the CBA is implemented.
“I do not oppose or disagree with their quest for good salaries. However, we all need to address this issue together in a dialogue,” said the governor.
