Tourism between Kenya and China is set to increase significantly after the Asian Country launched two weekly flights from Kenya’s capital to China’s capital city of central China’s Hunan Province, Changsha.
The non-stop flights will operate between Nairobi and Changsha on Wednesdays and Sundays.
China also has flights to Guangzhou City from Kenya, scheduled on Monday and Friday.
“In the first month of the route launch, the cheapest ticket from Nairobi to Changsha we will go for around Sh 51,485 while a return air ticket between the two destinations will go at Sh69, 616,” stated Chinese airline statement.
The new flights will play a significant role in helping traders attend the China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo expected to be held in Changsha before the end of this month, 27th and 29th.
The expo is expected to bring together business people from more than 53 African countries and global organizations.
Trade between the two countries will might turn out to be a major beneficiary from the new flights.
Currently, China is squarely Kenya’s biggest trading partner, accounting for 17.2 per cent of Kenya’s total trade.
