Enterprise Development portal, Bizna Kenya yesterday unveiled 32 nominees for its first edition of Young Entrepreneurs Awards (YEA Awards) 2018.

The awards are meant to recognize and encourage upcoming exceptional young entrepreneurs to improve on their business for increase profitability. The event which draws entries from youth aged between 18- 35 years in different categories, recognizes among others the best male and female young entrepreneurs of the year.

“We are delighted to host this event and celebrate young entrepreneurs who are doing tremendous work to meet needs in the society. Young people lead the way in many endeavors in life, especially in entrepreneurship and we are happy to cheer them on. With this initiative, things can only get better in Kenyan businesses,” said Bizna Kenya CEO Tonnie Mello.

The nomination processed that ended on October 20, 2018, saw participants nominate themselves or by partners, colleagues and customers.

After a thorough analysis and verification by a panel of judges, the nominees were pitched in categories to compete for marketing offers, business support services and over Sh1 million price.

The voting process which is available on vote runs until the midnight of November 25, 2018.

The following are the nominees that were shortlisted for the awards;

Fashion Award

  • Debbie Oyugi- Debbie Oyugi Kids

Real Estate Award

  • Moses Muriithi- Fanaka Real Estate Ltd

  • Lucas Mwangi- Appropriate Design Ltd

Agripreneur Award

  • John Kiruthi- Farmers Trend
  • Rodgers Kiwa- iAgribiz Africa
  • Peter Ngigi- Remington Africa

Service Industry Award

  • Anyiko Awoko- Anyiko Public Relations
  • Mumbi Ndung’u- Ibua Africa
  • Mary Njoki- Glass House PR

Entertainment Award

Hospitality Award
